Servicewoman's death after vaccination in Odesa was due to acute blood circulation disorders - Ukraine's Health Ministry

KYIV. March 24 (Interfax) - The death of a servicewoman in Chornomorsk, Odesa region after coronavirus vaccination was caused by acute blood circulation disorders, the Ukrainian Health Ministry said, citing tentative information from the Military-Medical Clinical Center of the Southern region.

According to the report, the woman received the Covishield/AstraZeneca vaccine on March 21. She was in a priority group for vaccination and had no counterindications to vaccination, namely, no allergy to any components of the vaccine. Another nine people were vaccinated with material taken from the same vial on the same day. No side effects from the immunization were recorded in the other patients.

The woman did not have any health complaints as of the morning of March 23, the ministry said.

A forensic evaluation has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.

More than 397 million coronavirus vaccinations were conducted worldwide as of March 19, the ministry said. According to the World Health Organization, no deaths from the vaccine have been registered.

Ukraine has immunized 137,026 people since the start of the vaccination campaign. Adverse events were registered in 590 of these people, and only three patients were put under medical observation for some time. All of them are now healthy.
