Financial irregularities uncovered in Roscosmos unrelated to misuse of funds, don't require police response - Accounts Chamber head (Part 2)

MOSCOW. March 31 (Interfax) - The financial irregularities uncovered in the course of last year's checks in the Roscosmos state corporation are unrelated to misuse of funds and do not require a police response, head of the Russian Accounts Chamber Alexei Kudrin said.

"We didn't detect any misuse [of funds] last year. Although I said once when talking about state corporations that such things happen, there was no misuse of funds detected in Roscosmos last year, there were no violations requiring a relevant response from law enforcement authorities there," Kudrin said at a plenary meeting of the Federation Council.

Kudrin said earlier that financial irregularities totaling more than 30 billion rubles were detected by the Accounts Chamber in Roscosmos last year.

Kudrin noted an improvement in financial discipline in the state corporation. "I should say that Roscosmos has become much more attentive to its financial discipline, the situation has changed drastically," he said.

The irregularities uncovered are associated with certain procedures and accounting processes, Kudrin said.

He also noted that the Accounts Chamber is overseeing the fixing of flaws uncovered in the state corporation earlier.
