PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. April 1 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will decide when Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov will return to Washington, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"This is to be decided by Russian President Putin. Ambassador Antonov is holding consultations at the Russian Foreign Ministry now. He has met with the State Duma's International Affairs Committee and the Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, and he has had conversations at the presidential office," Lavrov said in an interview on the Bolshaya Igra (Big Game) television program.
It is important for Russia "to analyze the current stage of our relations, which they have reached not in just one day," he said.
"The aggravating injection of unacceptable epithets during U.S. President Biden's interview with ABC has shown that such a major analysis can't be delayed any longer. This doesn't mean that we've just been observing the situation without making any conclusions all these years. But it's time for a review now," Lavrov said.
