YEREVAN. April 1 (Interfax) - Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are holding a meeting in Moscow on Thursday, the press service for the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
"A meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has begun," the press service said.
Aivazian is taking part in a meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Foreign Ministers in Moscow.
Later, the Russian Foreign Ministry, for its part, said that during the meeting Lavrov and Aivazian discussed the implementation of the agreements between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia dated November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021.
"The parties focused on topical issues of humanitarian response in Nagorno-Karabakh and on unblocking economic and transport ties in the region," a statement published on the Russian Foreign Ministry website said.
"The ministers exchanged views on topical issues of Russian-Armenian cooperation, including contacts at the top and high levels, as well as the preparations for marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries," the Foreign Ministry added.
Lavrov and Aivazian discussed specific issues of mutual interest on the international agenda.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Lavrov had met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday.
