Black Sea Fleet, Caspian Flotilla ships conducted over 170 firing exercises in March 2021

ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 7 (Interfax) - Over 60 surface ships and submarines of Russia's Black Sea Fleet and Caspian Flotilla have been engaged in practice and course completion tests for March 2021, Russia's Southern Military District press service reported citing the district's Commander Gen. of the Army Alexander Dvornikov.

"Over 60 Black Sea Fleet and Caspian Flotilla ships and submarines were engaged in practice and course completion tests in March 2021. At the same time, over 70 ships have been prepared for performing their duties since the start of the year," Dvornikov said.

The Black Sea Fleet's and Caspian Flotilla's ships and submarines conducted over 170 exercises, including firing exercises, in March 2021.

The air force and air defense forces army and the Black Sea Fleet's naval air force units also conducted about 30 tactical exercises to practice flying at extremely low altitudes and over the water, destroying cruise missiles, and flying in night-vision goggles. The pilots spent over 9,500 hours in flight.

The Southern Military District's troops are continuing tests concluding the winter training season. Over 40 tactical exercises of different level are planned in a month's time.
