CAIRO. April 12 (Interfax) - Russia has no answer to the question as to what United States warships are doing in the Black Sea, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"As concerns the United States' military activity, including the passage of their ships to the Black Sea, these things happen regularly, and it has been done especially forcefully and accompanied by especially aggressive rhetoric nowadays," Lavrov said at a press conference in Cairo on Monday, in reply to a question from Interfax.
"It's been asked what the Russian Federation is doing near the border with Ukraine, and the answer is very simple: we live there, and it's our country. But the question as to what the United States is doing in terms of its ships and troops that regularly arrange various undertakings at the NATO level in Ukraine, thousands of kilometers away from its territory, has so far gone unanswered," Lavrov said.
The countries that encouraged the Ukrainian leadership's anti-Russian sentiments in 2014 "haven't learned lessons" from those events, Lavrov said.
