TEHRAN. April 13 (Interfax) - All sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran in violation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) should be lifted unconditionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference in Tehran in reply to a question from Interfax.
"Here we and our Iranian friends pursue the same approach: all unilateral sanctions that were introduced by Washington directly violating the JCPOA must be lifted unconditionally," Lavrov said.
This issue is currently being discussed by the Joint Commission of the JCPOA at its consultations in Vienna, he said.
"The fulfillment by the U.S. of this task, i.e. the U.S.' return to full compliance with its commitments under [UN Security Council] Resolution 2231, will also allow Iran to resume taking these voluntary steps that Tehran is obliged to take in accordance with this resolution," Lavrov said.
