MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a directive to transfer a part of the Gulf of Taganrog in the Azov Sea to the Russian Defense Ministry for use.
The document to this effect is available for viewing on the official Internet portal for legal information.
It orders that "an area of the Gulf of Taganrog in the Azov Sea be transferred to the Russian Defense Ministry for solitary use for 20 years."
This territory with an area of 0.67 square kilometers is located near Yeisk's airfield, the base of military unit No. 78621.
The city of Yeisk is also home to the Center for Combat Employment and Retraining of the Navy's Air Force Personnel.
In accordance with the document, the aforementioned area will be used exclusively for the purpose of "ensuring the defense and security of the state."
It cannot be used by "legal entities or individuals for any other purposes, including recreation, fishing, and aquafarming."
