Armenian General Staff chief attends meeting of CSTO Military Committee

YEREVAN. April 14 (Interfax) - Armenian General Staff Chief Lieut. Gen. Artak Davtyan attended a meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Military Committee on April 14, the Armenian Defense Ministry press service said.

"The meeting addressed the development of military cooperation between the CSTO countries. Challenges and threats in the Eastern European, Caucasus and Central regions were discussed. The unified position of the General Staffs of the CSTO countries on the neutralization of these threats was approved," the ministry said.

It is Davtyan's first visit abroad since his appointment by force of law to the post of Armenian General Staff chief on March 22.
