NOVO-OGARYOVO, Moscow region. May 13 (Interfax) - The casualties of the Kazan school shooting will receive all the assistance they need, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"There is no doubt that Tatarstan, everyone who was caught up in that plight, the affected families, will receive all the necessary support and assistance. For now, the most important task is to save the lives of those injured. I know that some children have sustained very serious injuries. I'd like to wish a speedy recovery to everyone injured and to relay my support to their families. Please note that we will definitely use the full potential of our healthcare system, including leading federal clinics," Putin said at a meeting with government members on Thursday.
The best surgeons and other medical specialists have been engaged in the process, and modern equipment and drugs are being used, Putin said.
The meeting began with a moment of silence in memory of the dead.
"Of course, all of us are shaken by this tragedy. In these difficult days, all of Russia has been together with the residents of Kazan, with Tatarstan. People in all regions of the country are extending their heartfelt support and sympathy. They take the sorrow of Kazan residents close to heart. Once again, my deepest condolences to the relatives of the dead, the families that lost their most precious: children, grandchildren, their nearest and dearest," Putin said.
