Russian peacekeepers haven't recorded ceasefire violations in Nagorno-Karabakh in past week

MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) - No ceasefire violations have been recorded in the area of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh over the past week, Vitaly Glebov, spokesperson for the Russian peacekeeping unit in Nagorno-Karabakh, said on Friday.

"No ceasefire violations have been recorded within the peacekeeping contingent's area of responsibility, and no provocative actions in relation to Russian troops have been noted in the past period," Glebov said.

Since May 7, Russian peacekeepers have facilitated the passage of 20 vehicle convoys of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, including 12 through the Lachin Corridor and eight along the Shusha - Qirmizi Bazar - Qacar route and back, he said.

In addition, 80 pilgrims were escorted to Lachin on May 13, Glebov said.

Russian mine disposal specialists have discovered 24,611 explosive objects and cleared 2,115 hectares of territory of mines, he said.

Russian peacekeepers were deployed to Nagorno-Karabakh after Armenian and Azerbaijani forces stopped fighting on November 10, 2020.

The Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh number 1,960 service members primarily from the 15th Independent Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Central Military District.
