Armenia asks for extraordinary meeting of committee of CSTO Security Councils' secretaries amid border conflict with Azerbaijan

YEREVAN. May 17 (Interfax) - Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan has made a proposal to hold an extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states in connection with the escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

"Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan on May 16 sent a letter to Secretary of the Tajik Security Council and Chairman of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO countries Nasrullo Mahmudzoda and presented the facts of the incursion of units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces into Armenian border regions. In this regard, the secretary of the Armenian Security Council proposed holding an extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO countries," the press service for the Armenian Security Council said.

A copy of the letter was sent to CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, it said.
