MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - Western nations have been regularly trying to influence the political and socioeconomic situation in Russia, Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Sergei Vakhrukov said in an interview with Interfax.
"Attempts at interfering in internal affairs of our country, and attempts at putting political pressure and destabilizing the domestic socioeconomic situation have been ongoing," Vakhrukov said.
"NATO forces are moving closer to the Russian border. Western countries are trying to assess international stability and security in a specific way and are hindering the world's multi-polarity," he said.
"On the whole, both political and economic spheres of influence are being re-divided in the world," Vakhrukov said.
