MINSK. May 24 (Interfax) - A Lufthansa flight did not depart for Frankfurt am Main from Minsk as it was meant to on Monday due to a warning of a terror attack being prepared, the press service for Minsk International Airport said.
"The national airport has received an e-mail from unidentified persons about plans to commit an act of terror targeting the LH1487 flight operated by the Lufthansa airliner from Minsk to Frankfurt. The flight was due to depart at 2:20 p.m. Boarding has been stopped in regard to this flight," Minsk International Airport said on Monday afternoon.
"In accordance with Belarussian statutory acts concerning aviation safety, the airport's aviation safety units must take exhaustive measures to ensure the security of passengers, crews, and aircraft. In this regard, procedures are currently being carried out to once again inspect the plane and everything to be carried on board," the press service said.
All competent agencies have been informed of this, it said.
