Pashinyan ready to swap son for Armenian POWs in Azerbaijan

YEREVAN. June 8 (Interfax) - Armenia's Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed his readiness to exchange his son for all prisoners-of-war held by Azerbaijan.

Earlier on Tuesday Serzh Sargsyan, an ex-president of Armenia and now leader of the Republican Party, which has formed the I Have Honor bloc to take part in early parliamentary elections, suggested that Pashinyan should swap his son Ashot for Armenian POWs instead of saying they could wait for another couple of months.

"I am telling Aliyev officially: I am offering my son in exchange for all our POWs," Pashinyan said at a meeting with locals in the town of Aparan, Aragatsotn region, in response to Sargsyan's suggestion.

He stressed that he was not being emotional in stating that.
