Blogger Khovansky detained in St. Petersburg in connection to terrorism propaganda case - source

ST. PETERSBURG. June 9 (Interfax) - Video blogger Yury Khovansky has been detained in St. Petersburg, an informed source told Interfax on Wednesday.

According to tentative information, he is suspected of making public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism. A criminal case has been opened.

"The case is probably connected to Khovansky's blogging activities," the source said.

Khovansky is a Russian video blogger and rapper. He has been an assistant to Vasily Vlasov, a State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) faction since June 2019.
