One Russian soldier dead, 3 injured as their vehicle hits bomb in Syria - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - One Russian serviceman died and another three were injured in an explosion when a Russian military police vehicle hit a bomb in Syria's Al-Hasakah province on Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"One Russian serviceman died of injuries sustained as a result of the explosion. Another three Russian servicemen riding in the same vehicle were admitted to hospital, where they received all necessary medical care. Their injuries are not life-threatening," the Defense Ministry said.

An armored vehicle of the Russian military police hit an unknown explosive device during a patrol mission in the Al-Hasakah province on June 9, it said.

The Russian Defense Ministry will extend all necessary assistance and support to the family of the killed soldier, it said.
