Baku hands over 15 POWs to Yerevan

BAKU/YEREVAN. June 15 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan has transferred 15 Armenians to Armenia in exchange for a map of minefields in the Agdam district, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry said.

"Under the agreement reached, 15 detained Armenians were handed over in the presence of Georgian representatives on the Azerbaijani-Georgian border on June 12, 2021 in exchange for Armenia providing maps with the locations of anti-tank and anti-personnel landmines in the Agdam district," the ministry stated.

Armenia's Acting Prime Minister NIkol Pashinyan confirmed the return of the POWs.

"I have good news. Our 15 people who were captured are returning to Armenia. They are on the way," Pashinyan said during a pre-election rally in the Gegharkunik district.
