MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has asked journalists to wait until after the Russian-U.S. summit to discuss the possibility of a prisoner swap between Russia and the United States.
"We should hardly say anything specific before and if the issue is touched upon by the two presidents in Geneva," Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
As to whether U.S. citizen Paul Whelan might be exchanged for Russian citizen Viktor Bout, Peskov said, "It's inappropriate to discuss right now who might be exchanged for whom and how."
"You know that the president has allowed for this opportunity in his interview with NBC but this is an issue both presidents should discuss," he said.
