Turkey to take steps to normalize relations with Armenia as problems between Yerevan, Baku begin to be eliminated - Erdogan (Part 2)

BAKU. June 16 (Interfax) - The relationship between Ankara and Yerevan might be normalized in the future, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

"As the problems between Armenia and Azerbaijan are eliminated, Turkey might undertake certain steps to normalize relations with Yerevan," Erdogan said in the Azerbaijani parliament on Wednesday.

He also highlighted the significance of the Zangezur corridor project for the countries of the region, including Armenia.

"The convenience that the Zangezur corridor will provide to the region is beyond description. Using a railroad, which would start functioning as part of the Zangezur corridor, Armenians would be able to easily get to Moscow and other parts of the world, thus getting rid of the isolation they have put themselves in," Erdogan said.

"The opening of the borders with Turkey will provide countless advantages to Armenia," Erdogan said.
