MOSCOW. July 7 (Interfax) - Tajikistan will send additional troops to areas close to its border with Afghanistan and will mobilize another 20,000 troops for the further reinforcement of the border, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Hasan Sultonov said.
"The order was to send additional troops to areas near the Tajik-Afghan border. [...] The Tajik minister of defense has been ordered to mobilize 20,000 reserve troops to further reinforce the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan," Sultonov said at a meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council.
