MOSCOW. July 7 (Interfax) - Tajikistan hopes the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will provide assistance with protecting Tajikistan's border with Afghanistan, as individual sections of the border are located in remote mountainous areas, Tajik Permanent Representative to the CSTO Hasan Sultonov said.
"These circumstances require from us an adequate response within the CSTO, including the adoption of measures to build the potential to protect the southern borders," Sultonov said at a meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council, which was held via videoconference on Wednesday.
