STAR CITY, Moscow region. July 19 (Interfax) - Roscosmos will launch its own producer of spacesuits for a cosmonaut detachment to increase competition in the industry, the state corporation's chief Dmitry Rogozin said.
"For example, to push them [NPP Zvezda] into working quicker on new spacesuits. We are being told that [funding] is scarce, and where quality is also, you cannot use your right of monopoly to manufacture this sort of equipment for a detachment of cosmonauts," Rogozin told journalists on Monday.
"Most likely, we will go down the path of creating an alternative production so as to have something to choose from," he added.
