YEKATERINBURG. July 29 (Interfax) - Russia has begun redeploying military personnel from the Samara region to the area of a joint exercise with Uzbekistan near the border with Afghanistan.
"Units of the peacekeeping unit and the special forces' brigade of the Central Military District have begun transferring troops to the Termez training range to participate in a joint Russian-Uzbek exercise, which will be held in Uzbekistan's Surkhandarya region. At Samara's Kurumoch International Airport, servicemen loaded weapons and military uniforms and gear on board an Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft, passed customs procedures, and flew to the city of Termez," the press service for the Central Military District said.
