DUSHANBE. Aug 2 (Interfax) - A joint military exercise is taking place at the Harbmaidon range on August 1-10 within the framework of military cooperation and on the basis of agreements between Tajikistan, Russia, and Uzbekistan, Tajik Defense Ministry spokesperson Faridun Mahmadalizoda told Interfax.
"All exercise participants were deployed to the range on August 1, and the work of the first stage began. The largescale joint exercise will involve over 2,000 troops from the armed forces of the three countries. The exercise will also involve 25 combat and transport helicopters, bombers and fighter jets, in addition to about 300 armored vehicles, artillery systems, and various sorts of modern military hardware and other special equipment," Mahmadalizoda said.
