ISS orbit to be adjusted on Aug 19 - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. Aug 3 (Interfax) - The orbit of the International Space Station (ISS) will be adjusted on August 19, so that it can take in its next crew, Roscosmos said.

"According to preliminary data from the ballistic-navigation service of [Roscosmos's] TsNIImash Mission Control Center, the engine of the Zvezda service module will be turned on at 07:04 a.m. Moscow Time on August 19, 2021 and run for 47 seconds, and the level of the engine burn will be 0.67 meters per second," Roscosmos said

This is necessary to form ballistic conditions prior to the launch and docking of the Soyuz MS-19 transport crewed spaceship and the undocking and landing of its predecessor Soyuz MS-18.

The last time the orbit was adjusted was on June 24.

Soyuz MS-19 is due to be launched on October 5. It will carry to the ISS the film crew of the Vyzov (Challenge) movie, consisting of director Klim Shipenko and actress Yulia Peresild, and the spaceship's commander, cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov. They will be making the first feature film in space.
