YEKATERINBURG. Aug 6 (Interfax) - Servicemen from the 201st Russian military base are providing comprehensive security of field command posts in the course of the joint exercise of Russian, Uzbek and Tajik troops near the Afghan border, the press center of the Central Military District said on Friday.
"In the course of the exercise, the servicemen are providing electronic protection of units and mobile command posts from reconnaissance and targeting systems of precision-guided weapons, and reconnaissance and attack unmanned aerial vehicles of the mock enemy," the press center said.
A special group of forces was created on the orders from the military base command to operate independently or together with motorized rifle, reconnaissance, tank, artillery and other units. Electronic warfare, air defense, UAV, signals and security units were attached to the group.
The signals units are now practicing the countering of the mock enemy's radio interference and the stealth relocation of communication and control posts. The security of the joint tactical exercise is being provided by means of the Pole-21M, Silok, and R-934BMV ECM systems, R-448, MK-3VKS, MK-SP, P-240-I4 and R-419L1 satellite communication stations, and Orlan-10, Leer, Granat, and Takhion unmanned aerial vehicles.
