CHISINAU. Aug 6 (Interfax) - The Moldovan parliament confirmed the new government led by Natalia Gavrilita on Friday.
The vote of confidence in the government and its program entitled "Good Times Moldova" passed with 61 votes from deputies of the pro-presidential Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). There were 94 deputies present in the parliament hall, an Interfax correspondent reported.
The faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists and the Shor party faction, which have announced themselves as the opposition, did not vote for the confirmation of the new government.
The pro-European PAS won the parliamentary elections on July 11. Moldovan President Maia Sandu nominated PAS Deputy Chairperson Gavrilita, who served as the finance minister in Sandu's government in June-November 2019, for prime minister.
After the government was confirmed, the government members were sworn in by President Sandu. The government will have its first meeting on Friday afternoon.
