MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - A second regiment armed with Russia's new weapons system, intercontinental ballistic weapons carrying the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle, will be put on combat duty by 2023, as Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was told on Tuesday in the course of the unified military goods commissioning day.
"There are plans to put on combat duty another missile regiment armed with the Avangard strategic missile system in the 13th missile division in the period until 2023," division commander Maj. Gen. Andrei Cherevko said.
