MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Military equipment targeting foreign markets will be exhibited during the International Military-technical Forum Army-2021, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, said.
"Specifically for demonstration to foreign delegations, we have created, jointly with the Industry and Trade Ministry, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation and Rosoboronexport, an exposition of our export-oriented types of weapon and equipment, which will open on August 23," Gerasimov said at a briefing for foreign military attaches on Thursday.
The Defense-Industrial Complex pavilion will exhibit products from Russia's leading defense suppliers, he said.
"The dynamic program of the forum will be on display at the Alabino training range and Kubinka aerodrome in the form of exhibits of certain types of military hardware at breaks during the Tank Biathlon competition," Gerasimov said.
Also, weapon and equipment demos at Alabino will be broadcast live onto information screens at the Patriot Park, he said.
"For the first time the flight program will include a performance demo by Aerospace Forces aerobatic groups of cadets from the Krasnodar higher military aviation school for pilots," Gerasimov said.
Also, "modern and potential future small arms will be demonstrated at the multi-purpose firing center of the Patriot Park. Four teams will take part in the Drone Biathlon championship in operating unmanned aerial vehicles and robotic systems on August 25-26," he said.
During the championship, scientific company operators from the ERA Technopolis will hold a demonstration of a swarm of drones, the general said.
The forum's scientific business program will involve over 200 events, most notably congresses on artificial intelligence technology for national defense and security applications and on diversifying Russia's defense industry, Gerasimov said.
