MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax) - The Luna-25 mission has been delayed due to the need to improve the spacecraft, including its soft landing system, NPO Lavochkin General Designer Alexander Shirshakov said.
"Landing on the Moon is a key issue. It's of paramount importance to fine-tune the safe landing system. Luna-25 is a spacecraft project in which we are testing the soft landing system. The results of this work will be essential for every subsequent project, including those featuring a human landing. Please note that we need an absolutely reliable, tested, and, I would say, 100% result," Shirshakov said in response to a question why the mission has been delayed.
