Too early to say whether Taliban's 'banned organization' status in Russia could be reversed, Moscow analyzing their actions - Peskov (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax) - It is too early to say whether the Taliban's banned organization status in Russia could be reversed before Moscow sees their first steps in governing Afghanistan, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"It's too early to approach the matter this way for now," Peskov told journalists in reply to the relevant question on Monday.

"It's very important to see what the Taliban's first steps are in governing Afghanistan, and only then could any conclusions be made," he said.

A new leadership of Afghanistan has still not been put together, nor has the evacuation of foreigners and Afghans who worked with them been completed, he said.

"A dangerous process is going on in regard to the presence of terrorist groups and elements in Afghanistan's territory," Peskov said.
