EU refusing to start consultations on migration problem with Minsk - Belarusian FM

MINSK. Sept 2 (Interfax) - The European Union is rejecting Minsk's proposals on holding consultations on the migration problem, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei told journalists on Thursday.

"We have been urging the European Union to hold consultations on illegal migration since April this year, but the European Union is categorically refusing," Makei said.

"Amid sanctions, the sanction pressure, and attempts to exert external influence on the Republic of Belarus and pursue unlawful activities from the outside, we have to employ all resources to defend from external threats and strengthen our border security," he said.
