MINSK. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Minsk has decided on a candidacy for the post of Ambassador to the United States but sees no point in sending the ambassador in the current climate, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said.
"For us, relations with the U.S., as with any other country, are always relevant. At one point we were selecting the candidature for our ambassador to the United States of America. Moreover, I want to say that we do have a candidate. But in the current circumstances, naturally, there is no sense in sending our ambassador to the U.S. due to the sanctions undertaken by that country towards Belarus," Makei told journalists on Thursday.
