Moscow interested in peace treaty with Tokyo, views its absence as nonsense - Putin

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 3 (Interfax) - The new provisions of the Russian constitution that declare the inalienability of Russia's territories do not prevent Moscow from being interested in a peace treaty with Japan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"This doesn't change our approach, namely, our interest in concluding a peace treaty," Putin said at a plenary meeting of the Eastern Economic Forum.

"We view the absence of such a document in our relations as nonsense," he said.
