DUBROVICHI RANGE, Ryazan region. Sept 3 (Interfax) - The competitions held as part of the International Army Games help strengthen military cooperation between countries, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Lieut. Gen. Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said on Friday at the closing ceremony for the Airborne Platoon and Tactical Shooter contests.
"The participants in the competitions greatly enjoy this communication. Close military cooperation is formed as well," Yevkurov said.
"I congratulate all winners. I congratulate all participants in the competitions," he said at the awards ceremony.
The Russian team won the Airborne Platoon competition, getting the highest score among all teams. The paratrooper teams from Kazakhstan and China shared second place. The Belarusian team came in third. The Russian team also won the Tactical Shooter contest.
Some 600 servicemen making up 35 teams from 24 countries took part in the International Army Games' Airborne Platoon and Tactical Shooter competitions, which were held in Russia's Ryazan region from August 23 to September 1.
