MOSCOW. Sept 3 (Interfax) - Russian Armed Forces personnel held a training exercise in the Kaliningrad region, which involved deploying Iskander-M systems and simulating missile launches on mock enemy command centers, the Russian Baltic Fleet said on Friday.
The training of a missile brigade stationed near Kaliningrad took place as part of preparations for the Zapad 2021(West 2021) joint Russian-Belarusian strategic exercise, the fleet's press service said.
"In the designated district, the missile brigade deployed its systems on unequipped positions after a march. Having received the coordinates, the crews of Iskander-M missile systems destroyed mock enemy command centers and satellite access nodes by carrying out training (electronic) launches of cruise missiles," the Baltic Fleet said.
More than 100 servicemen and some 50 pieces of military and specialized hardware took part in the exercise, it said.
