Soyuz-2 rocket to be in use for another 9-10 years - Roscosmos head

VOSTOCHNY COSMODROME. Sept 6 (Interfax) - The Roscosmos state corporation is planning to use the Soyuz-2 rockets for another nine or ten years, the corporation's head Dmitry Rogozin told Russian President Vladimir Putin at Vostochny Cosmodrome.

"I believe that the Soyuz-2, its upgraded version with a Russian control system, will actually fly for another nine-ten years," Rogozin said.

Commercial customers "are very pleased with this rocket," he said.

In the future, the Soyuz-2 launch vehicles will be replaced with the Amur-SPG rockets, he said.
