Four ISIL supporters detained in Ingushetia - FSB (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Sept 6 (Interfax) - Four supporters of the ISIL terrorist organization, banned in Russia, have been detained in Ingushetia for plotting attacks on law enforcement officers, the public relations center of the Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a statement on Monday.

"The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, acting together with the Investigative Committee, the Interior Ministry, and the Federal National Guard Service of the Russian Federation, has put an end to the activity of supporters of the ISIL international terrorist organization (hereinafter referred to as ITO), who were engaged in preparations for and the perpetration of terrorist crimes in the Republic of Ingushetia," the statement said.

Four citizens of Russia were detained; they established contact with ISIL online "in order to coordinate their activity aimed at preparing and perpetrating terrorist crimes, including attacks on law enforcement officers by means of improvised explosive devices and bladed weapons, and propagandizing terrorist ideology among Russian citizens," it said.

Firearms, bladed weapons, and improvised explosive and incendiary devices and their components and tools for manufacturing them have been seized from the detainees' homes.

"The communications devices used contained correspondence with members of the ISIL ITO that confirmed their criminal intentions," the FSB said.

Investigative agencies have opened criminal cases on counts of participation in the activity of a terrorist organization, aiding and abetting the activity of a terrorist organization, and failure to report a crime.
