Peskov calls claims of Moscow's involvement in events in Catalonia lies, insinuations

MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has no information on contacts between Russian officials and representatives of the Catalonian government, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

"We know nothing of such contacts. We don't know whether such publications can be called reliable. Anyway, they claim the alleged involvement of the Russian side in the events in Catalonia, and we strongly deny that. This is nothing but lies and insinuations," Peskov said.

Journalists asked Peskov to comment on recent foreign media reports saying that the office of former head of the Catalonian government Carles Puigdemont tried to establish contact with Russian officials in 2019.
