Kremlin declines to comment on Whelan's motion for transfer to U.S

MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has declined to comment on a motion for transferring Paul Whelan, a citizen of the United States and some other countries, to the United States where he will serve his remaining prison time.

"I have nothing to say on the issue for now," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press briefing on Wednesday, in response to the relevant question.

As to whether Russia will comply with the principle of reciprocity and will ask for transferring Russians incarcerated in the United States, including Viktor Bout and Konstantin Yaroshenko, to their home country, Peskov said, "We, as the presidential administration, are not involed in this matter in any way."
