Rogozin offers condolences over death of Russian emergency situations minister

MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Roscosmos General Director Dmitry Rogozin has offered condolences over the death of Russian Emergency Situations Minister Yevgeny Zinichev.

"My sincere condolences. I knew him personally. We worked together closely and fruitfully. So unfortunate," Rogozin said on Telegram.

The Emergency Situations Ministry said earlier on Wednesday that Zinichev died while rescuing people during a training exercise.

"The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry regrets to say that Emergency Situations Minister Yevgeny Zinichev has tragically died in the line of duty, while saving a person's life in the course of an interdepartmental exercise practicing the mitigation of emergencies in the Arctic zone," the ministry said.
