KYIV. Sept 8 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government suggests that the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) impose sanctions against 30 individuals and legal entities involved in the construction of a bridge over the Kerch Strait and the destruction of Sevastopol's parks.
"The cabinet of ministers of Ukraine has approved and is submitting to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine a package of sanctions against 24 legal entities and six individuals involved in the illegal construction and operation of the so-called bridge over the Kerch Strait, organization of transportation service between the temporarily occupied Crimea and the territory of the Russian Federation and illegal redevelopment of park territories and cultural heritage sites on the territory of Sevastopol," the press service for the Ukrainian Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories said.
The imposition of sanctions on the relevant legal entities, if they are found to have property on the territory of Ukraine, will make its use impossible, will prohibit export and import operations, will make it impossible to withdraw capital outside of Ukraine, and will stop the fulfilment of economic and financial obligations and licensed operations on the territory of Ukraine, the press service said.
At the same time, the imposition of sanctions on the said individuals will make it impossible for them to enter the territory of Ukraine and will prevent them from disposing of property located on the territory of Ukraine. The said individuals and the persons who are controlled by them, directly or indirectly, or act in their interests, will be prohibited from participating in privatization and lease of state property.
The Ukrainian government suggests the sanctions be imposed for five years.
