KABUL. Sept 8 (Interfax) - The statement released by the Uzbek Foreign Ministry on readiness for dialogue with the government created by the Taliban movement (terrorist organization banned in Russia) is a "positive step," a Taliban leader said.
"We appreciate the positive step taken by MoFA [Foreign Ministry] of Uzbekistan regarding the new AFG caretaker Govt," Taliban leader Anas Haqqani said.
"Afghanistan wants cordial relations with its neighbors, regional countries, and International community based on mutual respect, shared interests, cooperation, and norms of diplomacy," Haqqani said on Twitter.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry declared its readiness to "develop constructive dialogue and practical interaction with the new authorities of Afghanistan."
