Peskov has no doubt about Putin's visit to Minsk in late fall

MOSCOW. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said he has no doubt that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Minsk at the end of fall.

"I have no doubt he will go there. I believe that the dates will be coordinated through what we call diplomatic channels. They [the presidents] call each other all the time, and I believe they will agree on when that will happen," Peskov told reporters.

A meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus is due to take place at the end of the year.

Belarusian journalists asked Peskov whether the Kremlin missed in-person communication between the two presidents. "I believe the whole world misses communication of the kind, perhaps it cannot be fully restored just yet, but as you can see we are gradually resuming it and let's hope the day we'll be free from coronavirus is approaching. Although I do not think that will happen any time soon," he said.
