Russian warship replenishes supplies in Cyprus

MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax) - The large anti-submarine ship Vice Admiral Kulakov has completed a call at the Cypriot port Limassol and has entered the Mediterranean Sea, the press service for the Russian Northern Fleet said on Wednesday.

"The Russian sailors replenished their water and fuel supplies for several days, and they also had some rest and recuperation from their long-range voyage on the coast," the press service said.

The Vice Admiral Kulakov leads a unit of ships and vessels. It comprises the rescue towboat Altai and the medium sea tanker Academic Pashin.

The Vice Admiral Kulakov left the main base of the Northern Fleet in Severomorsk on June 28. It took part in the main naval parade in Kronstadt in July and then left for the Atlantic Ocean, taking part in a command-post exercise to command Northern Fleet forces.

The unit of Northern Fleet ships has been in the Mediterranean Sea since August 18. Since then, it has made a call in Algeria and has conducted a number of exercises in all types of defense of a unit of ships during sea passage, the Northern Fleet said.
