YEREVAN. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan could not fly to Dushanbe to attend meetings of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) due to a problem with the plane he was on, the Armenian foreign minister's press secretary Vaan Unanyan told Interfax.
"The minister couldn't go to Dushanbe and attend the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, Defense Ministers, and Security Council Secretaries of the CSTO states," Unanyan said.
The plane was a commercial airliner, he said.
The Armenian foreign minister will take part in the work of the CSTO structures and will hold a number of bilateral meetings on Thursday, Unanyan said.
The Armenian Defense Ministry told Interfax that Armenian Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan could not attend the CSTO meeting "for the same reason."
The ministry said the plane was expected to fly from Moscow to Dushanbe.
"The Armenian defense minister will take part in the work of the CSTO structures tomorrow," the Defense Ministry said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry earlier published a photo following the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, Defense Ministers, and Security Council Secretaries of the CSTO states that did not show the Armenian foreign and defense ministers. Only Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan was in the group photo.
