YEREVAN. Sept 15 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said he wants to address the topic of improving relations with Turkey at the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit in Dushanbe.
"We received positive impulses from Turkey about the start of talks. And the Armenian government expressed its readiness to begin talks about the normalization of relations, and the opening of communications. It is assumed that specific actions should follow to begin talks," Pashinyan said in the Armenian parliament on Wednesday.
The Armenian government stands ready to act in line with this logic, he said.
"Today my visit to Dushanbe will take place, where I will take part in the CSTO summit, during which Armenia will take over the chairmanship of the organization. And I will also touch upon this topic [relations with Turkey] at the summit," Pashinyan said.
There are no diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey, and the joint border has been closed since 1993 at the initiative of Ankara due to the Karabakh conflict.
