CSTO leaders approve plan to supply Collective Forces with advanced weapons - secretary general

MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax) - The Collective Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be provided with advanced weapons and military hardware, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said.

The CSTO Collective Security Council met in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe on Thursday to discuss, among other issues, the threats coming from the territory of Afghanistan since the takeover by the Taliban (terrorist organization banned in Russia).

"The states' leaders approved a plan to supply the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces with advanced weapons, military and specialized hardware, and special-purpose equipment. It is a highly important and timely document, the implementation of which will help our Collective Rapid Reaction Forces reach a qualitatively new level," the CSTO press service quoted Zas as saying.
