DONETSK. Sept 17 (Interfax) - The emergency services of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) started receiving numerous reports about bomb threats made to public buildings after the start of Russian citizens' voting in the State Duma election, a source in the republic's defense and security agencies told Interfax.
"We are receiving reports on numerous bomb threats to public buildings. Obviously, the Ukrainian side is thus trying to disrupt the electoral process," the source said.
DPR head Denis Pushilin said on July 5 Russian citizens from the self-proclaimed Donbas republic would vote in the September State Duma election offline at polling stations in the Rostov region and remotely via the Gosuslugi portal.
Viktor Vodolatsky, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, earlier said residents of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) and the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) who had received Russian passports would vote in the election of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly in September 2021.
According to his information, 611,000 residents of the DPR and the LPR have received Russian passports using a simplified system.
